Dr. Ernst is a 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry. He is committed to excellence in vision care including prescribing glasses and contact lenses, refractive surgery management and medical eye care including treatment of infections, glaucoma, cataract evaluation, foreign body removal, and routine diabetic eye examinations.

Dr Ernst entered the Air Force in 1984 with active duty assignments to Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii and Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. He is currently assigned as the Officer in Charge of the 932d Aerospace Medicine Squadron Optometry Flight at Scott Air Force Base.

Dr. Ernst is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the Southwestern Illinois Optometric Association. He is an active member and worship leader at Shiloh United Methodist Church

Dr Ernst lives in Belleville with his wife Amanda and daughter Emily. His son Austin lives in Mascoutah and Daughter Amber and her family are close by in O’Fallon.
